Understand money

Know what’s yours. Not just what’s visible.

Your net worth includes your personal accounts and only your share of shared assets and debt—never the whole household balance. Follow how it changes over time, then inspect the assets and liabilities behind every movement.

The ClearCash difference

Your share, calculated automatically.

Share an account, property, or loan with a group, and its split percentage applies automatically—nothing to split by hand. Every shared item still shows its full balance, plus the slice that's actually yours, so your personal net worth only counts your share.

  • Personal accounts stay private by default.
  • Shared assets and debt use your actual split.
  • View-only accounts contribute $0 to your total.

Questions, answered

Details that matter.

What counts toward my net worth?

ClearCash includes eligible financial accounts, investment accounts, tracked property and other assets, and liabilities such as credit cards and loans. Assets add to your total; liabilities reduce it.

How do shared accounts affect my total?

A split account contributes only the portion assigned to you. For example, a $20,000 shared savings account with a 50% split contributes $10,000 to your personal net worth. View-only accounts can remain visible without contributing to your total.

Why does my net worth change over time?

Income, spending, debt payoff, investment values, account-balance changes, property valuations, and changes to shared-account splits can all move the number. The history view lets you inspect the balance sheet for a selected month.

What happens to net worth if I hold accounts in different currencies?

Each account keeps its own currency—nothing is converted in your records. ClearCash only converts supported currencies into your reporting currency at total time, so the assets and liabilities you see on the balance sheet stay comparable regardless of where they're held.
